Joaquin Matas is a Spanish professional magician, a disciple and student of the late Arturo
de Ascanio, Juan Tamariz, and Gabi Pareras. He has practiced magic for nearly 30 years
and specializes in close-up magic, parlor magic, and card magic. He primarily works for
corporate events, trade shows, and private parties.
Joaquin is a member of the prestigious Escuela Mágica de Madrid. His book, a two-volume
bestseller in Spanish titled “A fuego lento” (The Slow Fire), is a 650-page book in which
he shares his best routines and his philosophy.
His lecture will cover card magic, parlor magic, and close-up magic.
Joaquin will discuss some theoretical aspects of magic as well as some brand-new ideas
